Laurie Simmons (b. 1949, United States) is an artist and filmmaker based in New York. In exploration of her suburban childhood and the dichotomy between fantasy and reality, Simmons mines the camera's ability to deceive. She received her BFA from Tyler School of Art (Pennsylvania) and is best known for her ongoing series staging mise-en-scènes with dolls, dummies, and objects referencing domestic settings.
