Maharam is committed to supporting art and design education through fellowships, in-kind contributions, and professional development.
Since 2012 Maharam has partnered with Rhode Island School of Design to promote STEAM, a national, congressional initiative to integrate art and design education into STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). The Maharam STEAM Fellowship in Applied Art and Design enables RISD students to pursue internships with a government agency or nonprofit organization.
Maharam provides samples to individuals as well as educational and cultural institutions like the Textile Resource Center at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Students who register with Maharam can order select product samples marked S free of charge.
Tours of the Maharam Design Studio in New York are available to student groups of ten or more.
